Sarah & Mike: Invitation Design, Rochester NY

I love getting wedding invitations in the mail.

Don't get me wrong, I know that in our modern world, conserving paper is important, and I highly encourage the use of green materials whenever possible.  I know folks who have even created an online invitation instead of a paper invitation for their wedding - and to that, I applaud their conservation efforts.

But I can't help it, when a wedding invitation comes in the mail addressed to me I get giddy.

I get even more giddy, when it's an invitation I helped to create!

Back when I began this journey, Perrotta Creative was a photography and design studio.  As time passed, I started focusing more on my photography and less on my invitations.  Never fear, Mom and Dad, that hard earned graphic design degree you helped pay for was not for nothing! I use my design skills every day, from photography compositions and color, to creating custom designed albums and cards for my clients.

When it comes to being a client's photographer AND designer, it's exciting.  I love to be able to see a theme through, all the way from creating the save the date cards, to the invites and thank you cards, as well as be able to capture that same feeling in their photographs.

This invitation, is for my long time best friend's wedding.  Her theme is based on the beach, my girl loves being at the beach!

Now, I've seen some cheesy beach theme invitations.  I didn't want that for Sarah, I wanted fun, with a touch of elegance.

So we compiled the design with an elegant script type and colorful starfish on a pearl paper stock.  Her bright bold color choices, brought the whole thing together. She then assembled them, on a royal blue backer, and used a cute twine to hold it all together and continue the beach feeling. Here's the end results:

Sarah sternly requested that I send in my RSVP card, so sadly, it's not pictured, but you get the idea. Being her Matron of Honor, (still hate that term-Matron!) I'm obliged to comply with the Bride's requests.

I cannot wait to celebrate their wedding day. It's going to be so gorgeous, and I'm so honored to have gotten to be a part of the design team that made it beautiful.

Love you both Sarah & Mike-let's party!!
